Name of Person: Diego Rivera (Diego María de la Concepción Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodríguez)
Date of Place of Birth: December 8, 1886 in Guanajuata Mexico-November 24, 1957
At the age of 10, Diego Rivera moved to Mexico City with his family. In 1898, Diego enrolled in the San
Carlos Academy.
Brief Description:
Diego was thought to be one of the most leading artists of the 20th

century. He studied art at the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts and in 1906 at an art show, he had 26 pieces

of his work and that was when he

officially became a painter at the age of 20. Later, he then traveled to Europe to work on his art. Inspired by the political ideals of the Mexican Revolution and the Russian Revolution, Diego wanted to duplicate that with his wonderful artistry.

Persons Accomplishments: In 1907, Diego got a travel grant and went to Spain. From there he traveled to many places, including France, Belgium and England. In 1909, he met a Russian painter; Angelina Belhoff and she became Diego’s partner for 12 years. They traveled together, mainly in Europe and spent most of their time in Paris, France, where Diego participated in many art exhibitions.   David Sternberg, Diego and Angelina’s friend, and the Soviet People's Commissar of Fine Arts had invited him to Russia, and Diego was tempted to go, but in 1921 he returned to Mexico instead

What Events in this Persons Life Where Most Important To You? Diego's art is reallly amazing and inspirational. But the most important event I would say, would be the fact that Diego was so interested in the Mexican and Russian Revoloution and wanted to duplicate that into his extraordinary paintings.
