- Name of person:
Harriet Tubman
- She was born sometime around 1820 and 1821. Nobody knows when she was born since in slavery, none of the masters thought that it wasn't worth knowing when a slave was born. Harriet was born in Maryland.
- Harriet was a slave ever since she was born. Her real name is Araminta, but after she was a hero to most, she inherited her mothers name, Harriet.
- She was a nurse, a leader of the Underground Railroad, a spy, and an overall, hero. She freed many African American people after she had gained a lot of expirience from sneaking around at night and hiding by day.
Harriet Tubman accomplished a lot of things in her life, like, she had risked her life by saving so many African American slaves.
- I think what was most interesting to me is that when she married her husband, he didn't even want to escape with her because she was about to get sold again.
- That was also part of her weakness because she loved him so much. Her strengths were that she had enough courage to free slaves and also come back for more slaves to be free. She's a very inspiring person.
- Some obstacles that Harriet Tubman had to deal with is her slave masters. They wanted her found after she had escaped. They put up fliers saying if someone found her that they would get $10,000. Plus that she had to come back for more slaves and then even more slaves. She was risking her life each and everytime she went back for more slaves.
